About Khatu Shyam Ji Temple

Khatu Shyam Ji Temple, located in the village of Khatu in Sikar district of Rajasthan, is one of the most sacred Hindu temples dedicated to Barbarika, the grandson of Bhima (one of the five Pandavas from the Mahabharata). Barbarika is worshipped here as Shyam Baba — a deity believed to be an incarnation of Lord Krishna himself. The legend says that Lord Krishna, impressed by Barbarika's bravery and his vow to always fight on the losing side to ensure justice, blessed him with the boon that in Kalyug (the present age), he would be worshipped as Shyam — another name of Krishna. Today, the temple attracts millions of devotees annually who come to seek blessings, offer prayers, and fulfil their vows.

Phalguna Mela (Falgun Mela) Details

The biggest festival at Khatu Shyam is the Phalguna Mela, held during the Hindu month of Falgun (February-March). This is a 10-12 day fair that attracts over 10 lakh (1 million) devotees. Key details:
