Sri Ganganagar Day Trip from Bikaner (बीकानेर से श्री गंगानगर दिन की यात्रा)
A day trip to Sri Ganganagar from Bikaner takes you to Rajasthan's northernmost city, near the India-Pakistan border. Founded by Maharaja Ganga Singh of Bikaner, this planned agricultural city is irrigated by the historic Gang Canal and is known as the 'Food Basket of Rajasthan' for its abundant wheat, cotton, and citrus production. Key attractions include the Gang Canal (a 19th-century engineering marvel), Anupgarh Fort (an ancient fort with archaeological significance), the Hindumalkot border area, Sukhdev Vihar Gurudwara, and the Laila Majnu ka Mazar (tomb). The drive through the Indira Gandhi Canal irrigated farmlands offers a dramatic contrast to Bikaner's desert landscape, passing through green fields of wheat and mustard and vast orchards of Kinnow oranges and malta fruit.
