Junagarh Fort (जूनागढ़ किला)
Junagarh Fort is one of the few major forts in Rajasthan that was not built on a hilltop. Built in 1593 by Raja Rai Singh, it has never been conquered. The fort complex houses 37 palaces, temples, and pavilions decorated with intricate stone carvings, paintings, and mirror work. Key attractions include Anup Mahal (Mirror Palace), Phool Mahal (Flower Palace), Chandra Mahal (Moon Palace), and Karan Mahal.

History
Built between 1589-1593 by Raja Rai Singh, a general in Emperor Akbar's army. The fort was expanded by successive rulers over 500 years. It's unique because it's built on flat ground surrounded by a moat, unlike hilltop forts of Rajasthan. The fort was attacked many times but never conquered, earning it the name 'Old Fort' (Junagarh).
How to Reach
Located in the heart of Bikaner city. Auto-rickshaw from railway station costs Rs 50-80 (3 km). From bus stand it's 2 km (Rs 30-50 by auto).

- Hire a guide at the entrance (Rs 200-300) for detailed history
- Visit in the morning to avoid crowds
